    Trauma Consultation

Have you attended a trauma-informed training but still feel stuck?
Do you have questions on what this looks like for your unique situation?
Do you need individualized guidance to help bring to life what you have learned about trauma?

Kendra is passionate about trauma-informed systems and practices. Through her work in residential foster care and the education system, she has seen how one adult can make a lasting impact on a child’s life. She has also experienced the challenges that come with creating system change. Wading through the waters of trauma-informed care can feel confusing. Whether you have attended one trauma training or many, you may not really feel prepared on how to appropriately and effectively manage the trauma responses that you see in the children and youth you live and work with.

This is where consultation comes in. Consultation is not counseling. Consultation is different from counseling in that it is more goal-directed. Consultation is program-specific and provides ongoing support for implementation. Consultation services are provided to school districts, foster/adoptive families, and agencies that seek to create environments that promote healing and resilience. Kendra will use her experiences to offer you hope, encouragement, and guidance in creating a healing environment.

Through consultation meetings, Kendra will work alongside you to establish specific goals and an individualized plan for your family, school, or organization. Kendra will provide additional education, strategies, and feedback to help you create a healing environment for children and youth. You will be provided a safe space to discuss the successes and challenges of implementing a trauma-informed system. You will be offered support for the challenging work you are doing. Follow-up consultation sessions will focus on the effectiveness of strategies previously discussed and identifying areas to restructure or refocus going forward.

Kendra is a Trust-Based Relational Intervention Practitioner (TBRI(R)) and Educator. TBRI(R)  is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention with years of research backing the strategies. The interventions are designed to meet the complex needs of children who have experienced trauma and adversity. Kendra has experience implementing TBRI(R)  strategies in residential foster care, foster/adoptive homes, and the school setting. Please let Kendra know if you are specifically interested in consultation from a TBRI(R) lens.

Change is possible! Healing can happen! You can find joy and peace again! We will work together to meet your goals!
